About What is the best way to get to Jersey City from Staten Island

What is the best way to get to Jersey City from Staten Island?
Hi, I work in Finance and have a potential offer at one of the banks in Jersy City. I live in Staten Island and when I went for my interview I get lost around all the construction and rerouting that's going on there. Anyone knows what the easiest way to get there? Is there any Bus route? Or maybe a commute to somewhere and transfer to a train or something? I'd appreciate all feedbacks. thanks in advance

How can an inexperienced person start a Waitering Job in NYC?.. or Maybe Jersey city or Newark ? (Plz Read)?
I really don't want to work in Jersey But if that is where i have to start so be it... I'm Almost 18 in a little less than a month. I will graduate in about 2 weeks from high school and start at Columbia University in the fall majoring in physics. I am really interested in being a waiter.. but alot of restaurants here in nyc require like 2 years experience.. Even Chain Restaurants.. And i am inexperienced.. But i have been reading up on how to be a good waiter.. I hear good looks may do the trick.. and i have Good looks and a smile to die for.. but, it doesn't work... lol... I've done the whole retail thing ... and i want to try something different I Really want to be a waiter I'm not really sure why.. Does any one know a good place where i can start ??... Or any managers hiring ?.. any stories?... should I bring a resume? not that there will be much on it.. pertaing to what i want to do but you know that should make for a good look.. I have also been told to lie and say i have experience.. but if i do then get hired they will expect me to know what to do... and i will not and then there will be a whole mess... I also been told to try to stay away from stores that are family owned or on ran by a certain ethnic group.. I am a mix of Caribbean and Spanish.. ( being alittle on the darker side ) that there may be a bit of racistum or alot of attention drawn towards me that will make me feel uncomfortable .. but i can speak Spanish and Japanese... But Japanese restaurants wont do.. I really can't stand the smell of Fish Constantly .. its one of those smells that make me feel sick after a while... so Please Please PLEASE help me.. I'm Trying to get hired before my birthday...

You got to have connections. Go into places and ask to talk to the managers. Experience or no experience - it's not what you know, it's who you know

About Does living in New Jersey save you money if you work in New York

Does living in New Jersey save you money if you work in New York?
Correct me if I am wrong. If you work and live in New York.. you will have to pay NY City Tax + NY State Tax + Fed tax. If you live in New Jersey and work in New York instead. All you have to pay is NY State Tax + Fed tax so you will be saving on NY City Tax which could be few thousands.

Houses in New York is too expensive. A single family house can run you up close to $500,000. Living in New Jersey is a good idea if you don't mind the commute to get here.
Answer 2 :
What you save in NY City Tax will more than be eaten up by tolls or train fares

About How much income tax do people working in New york city and living in new jersey have to pay

How much income tax do people working in New york city and living in new jersey have to pay?

Answer 1 :
It's fairly complicated, because they pay tax to both jurisdictions and then take a credit to avoid double taxation. Income from work is taxed by New York City at 4% at New York State at rates that go up to 6.85%, for a total of up to almost 11%. This is from a few years ago. The numbers may have changed. All income of NJ residents is taxed by NJ at a lower rate; I think it is around 2%, but do not remember exactly. NJ residents who work in NY then get a credit for whichever is less of either their NY taxes or the NJ taxes on the income from NY. Therefore, you pay NY tax rates on your income from work in NY and NJ taxes rates on your other income, such as investment income
